Djurö

A guest house on Djurö, in the Stockholm archipelago, conceived as a quiet complement to an existing private residence. From within, the half-metre window sill dissolves the boundary between building and landscape — the ground plane disappears entirely, replaced by the slow movement of reeds against open water. A dark timber facade gives way to a light-filled interior, where 11.5-metre Douglas fir planks run the near-full length of the approximately 80 sqm floor, grounding the space in warmth and material continuity.
